Sale-A-Brate! NC Demo January Blog Hop

Welcome to my post for the January NC Demos Blog Hop!   This month we are focusing on SU!’s annual Sale-A-Bration event which runs from 1/3 to 3/31.  If you’ve never experienced SAB, you are missing out on FREE stuff!  For customers, with every $50 you order from the annual catalog or the current Occasions catalog, you can pick a free item from the SAB catalog.  There are so many amazing items to choose from this year.  And if you are considering joining the SU! family as a demonstrator, you also get FREE stuff!  When you sign up during Sale-A-Bration, in addition to getting $125 worth of merchandise for $99, you ALSO get 2 additional stamp sets in your kit!  That’s right…you can choose any 2 stamp sets you want – thats up to a $101 value!*  This event is truly a win-win for everyone! (*bundles, kits and SAB items are not included in this promotion).

Now that I’ve told you about SAB, let’s get on to my card for this month wink.  It’s always funny to me how whenever we get a new catalog, there are stamp sets that just speak to me, and others…well, not so much.  This was the case with the stamp set I used for my project.  Epic Celebrations is definitely a cute set, but it was pretty low my list of “must-haves”.  But then I got this idea in my head, and this is what it ended up looking like on paper.  Canvas shoes have definitely changed from when I was growing up.  You pretty much had 2 colors to pick from, white or black (yes, I’m showing my age!).  But now, I’ve seen them in every color imaginable and with patterns too.  Let your imagination run wild with this set, you won’t be disappointed!

I knew I wanted to jazz up the shoes for this card, so I stamped them on a piece of DSP from the Painted with Love paper.  Then I filled in the tip of the shoes with Tombow glue and then dipped them in our Gold Glitter.  It’s just enough bling to really make them stand out on this card.  And I’m loving the Melon Mambo and Basic Black color pairing.  Plus, it really came together pretty quickly.  I hope you enjoy this card and it inspires you to jazz up those shoes when you use this set!  All the details are below.

Whisper White – 10” x 4.25”, score @ 4.5 on 10”’side

Basic Black – 4.25” x 4”

Melon Mambo – 4” x 3.75”

Scrap Basic Black – cut one large heart  (Lots to Love Framelits)

DSP – stamp sneaker image and fussy cut.

Stamp sentiment in the lower right corner of Melon Mambo panel, then randomly stamp dots.

Fill in a light layer of liquid glue on the top tip of the sneaker cutout. Dip in gold glitter, then tap off extra glitter. Set aside to dry.

Layer Melon Mambo on Basic Black, then layer on the short side of the Whisper White card front.

Place 3 random strips of washi tape on the right side of the 5.5” piece of Whisper White.

Adhere black heart to the center of Melon Mambo. Place a mini dimensional in the center of the heart.

Wrap both Gold and Black metallic thread around fingers 3-4 times, pinch center and place firmly on top of dimensional. Place sneaker image over metallic thread using additional dimensionals.

Snow, Snow, go away!

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that it does look pretty, BUT…we moved from PA to NC so we didn’t have to see so much of this!!  Plus this recent snowfall put a crimp in my plans to leave for NJ this morning, where I have few things planned up there for the weekend.  One of them being an early birthday celebration for my grandson.  The other is to have my first downline meeting with 2 of my team members, one who lives in NJ and one in DE.  So, I’ll be hitting the road tomorrow morning, fingers crossed!

This is the birthday card I’m taking with me for my grandson.  He’ll be turning 12 so he’s getting a little too old for cutesy cards.  I thought this one was perfect though, using one of our Sale-A-Bration sets called Epic Celebration.  This set can not be purchased, however, you can earn it for FREE!  For every $50 spent from now until 3/31, you can pick a SAB item from our mini catalog.  Click here to get more info!

I have so many great items that I’ve earned from SAB so stay tuned for more projects.  And however you are spending the day, I hope you can squeeze in a little stamping!

Make it a great day!

Accomplishments and Goals for 2018

2017 was a pretty good year for me with SU!  I added 3 new demonstrators to my team, I had my 20 year anniversary with SU! and in the last quarter, I finally achieved Silver status.  One of my goals for 2018 is to advance to Silver Elite!

And I happy to say that 2018 is starting out with a BANG!  I signed up another new demonstrator when SAB kicked off, Woo Hoo!!  This really totally blows me away because in my mind, I don’t actively recruit.  I don’t hold Opportunity nights or hand out brochures.  And when other demonstrators ask me what my magic formula is, I’m stumped for an answer.  All I can think of is that I just share my joy of stamping and all things SU!  And I genuinely love doing it.  If I can’t make it fun, I don’t want to do it!! laugh

It really is kind of hard to believe that I’ve been a demonstrator since 1997.  After attending my first workshop I was hooked.  I had a small assortment of stamps and inks already so I wasn’t completely new to the stamping world.  But after that workshop I started thinking, you know, this might be something I could get in to that would help increase my stash (at a discount!) and allow me to teach others how to make pretty cards.  So, I signed on in Oct. of 1997.  And I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.  I attended my first convention in 1998, it was SU!’s 10 year anniversary in San Diego and I was blown away.  I’ve attended many conventions and On Stage events since then.  And while each one has been fun and informative, the most important take away for me was the wonderful people I’ve met.  And many are dear friends to this day!  That is something that I will never lose, no matter where my path takes me.  It’s priceless!

I enjoy stamping and creating with the awesome products that SU!’s design team comes up with, and my goal is to share this opportunity with as many people as I can.  SU! has changed so much in the 20 years that I’ve been a demonstrator.  They know what they are doing and where they are going, in my opinion.  I’m excited to see what lies ahead!  If you think you might like to come along on this fun journey, please let me know!  SU! is offering a great incentive for those who sign up during our Sale-A-Bration event (1/3 – 3/31).  Or if you just want to attend one of my monthly classes to see what this is all about, check out my Events page.  I’d be more than happy to answer any questions 🙂

So, here’s to my 21st year with SU!.  I will be celebrating at the 30th Anniversary event in Orlando in

November and can not wait!!  I know new friends will be there too laugh

NC Demo December Blog Hop – What’s New With You?

EEK!  This is the first time I’m participating in our NC Demo Group’s Monthly Blog Hop!  It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now and just felt too intimidated to try it.  BUT…I know I needed to give it a shot, so here I am, lol!

December’s edition is What’s New With You? and the idea is to focus on new things…the New Year, new resolutions, just anything that’s new to me.  So for my very 1st Blog Hop I chose to start out with something simple, which is one of my resolutions…keep it simple!.  I also wanted to use a stamp set that was new to me.  I’ve had this set in my stash for quite a while now and have not yet used it.  It’s one of the Hostess Sets from our current annual catalog and it’s called Dare to Dream.

I want to be more focused and more organized in the new year so what better way than to have a cute little visual reminder of where I am in the month.  This card has an easel feature that ensures that it’s going to stay standing on my desk.  The easel idea was copied from a swap I received from Pamela Laughinghouse-Smith during our Monthly Ronald McDonald House Charities meeting.   And the great thing besides it being cute is it’s super easy to make!

The Marina Mist card base is 4.25 x 11, Pink Pirouette layer is 4 x 5.25, Whisper White layer is 3.75 x 5.  The easel part measures 4×4 and is scored at .50″, 2″ and 3.5″
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy card and thank you for checking out my blog!  I hope to participate in many more hops.  It’s such an honor to be included with these super talented ladies! Happy Stamping!Toni

Supply List:  Hostess Set Dare to Dream, Inks – Marina Mist and Pear Pizzazz, Cardstock – Whisper White, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz and Pink Pirouette.  Calendars were purchased at a local scrapbook store.
Please continue on to see all the other fantastic submissions from this month’s participants!!

Happy New Year!

It’s hard to believe that we are closing in on the end of 2017! It’s been quite the year. Good in a lot of ways but there have certainly been some pretty rough spots to navigate.
At the end of each year, I like sit back and reflect on where I am and where I want to be for the next 365 days.   For the personal side, I want to be more in touch with family and friends, even if it’s me that has to be the one always reaching out. Time is precious!  Be sure to spend it with those you love, in the end it will mean more than any material thing you may have given them.

On the professional side, I want to help my business grow by using technology more efficiently (like updating my blog more frequently!). And I need to be more consistent in general, spending more time focused on creating and not on trolling FB and Pinterest for ideas!  While they provide a wealth of information, it also tends to stifle me because there are so many great ideas out there and I feel overwhelmed.  I also plan on supporting my team in a more consistent manner to help them grow in whatever direction they want to go.  I know everyone has different goals and I need to recognize those goals and do what I can to help accomplish them.

How about you?  Do you make resolutions?  Do you make a actual list so that it’s always there to remind you of your goals?

However you end a year and prepare for the next, I wish you much success and happiness!   It doesn’t matter what you do with your life if you can’t find the joy in your accomplishments, whether they be large or small!

Here’s to 2018!!
