Welcome to our October NC Demos Blog Hop! If you started here with my blog, thank you for following me! If you landed here from Tina Lesson’s blog, thanks for following her! We have some truly talented demonstrators who participate each month and it’s always so much fun to see the projects.
Our topic this month is called A Little Something. We were challenged to create something that is NOT a card. And I have to tell you, this always excites me because I love to make non-card projects. I love boxes, bags, tags, and Home Decor. So my challenge was which one to make, lol.
This is what I decided on. I had some shadow boxes lying around and some battery LED lights, so I decided to use them to make this. This project was super easy because the coordinating Designer Series Paper did a large part of the work. And the dies finished it off.
The shadow box also has lights! I had several battery-operated LED light strings and they were perfect for this project. You can order them HERE.
You could also change the shadow box to a black frame and die-cut the pieces using metallic paper (gold or silver would look nice). But I had several white frames on hand so that’s what I used. The material at the base of the shadow box is sold at any craft store (or Dollar Tree, which is where I got mine). I think it’s called vase filler (the bag topper is long gone, lol). You could also use shredded kraft gift bag filler. You just want to make sure that the layer is not so tall that it blocks out the die-cut images.
Here are a few more pics, and a LINK to the PDF.
I hope you enjoyed my project. It’s really easy to come up with some fun non-card projects with our supplies, and I’d love to see what you create.
Now, please keep going through the blog hops to see all the other wonderful projects shared this month. Jo Anne Hewin’s blog is up next!

Toni, what a sweet Christmas gift. I am going to try this. Thanks so much for such a lovely idea.
Thanks, Frances. I need to make several for gifts, but they are really fairly simple to put together. Which is a plus since I tend to procrastinate!
I love you project SO MUCH! I have some of those lights and I never even opened the box. What size is your frame? Great idea using the filler at the bottom! Thanks!
That is just so beautiful and a perfect Christmas present. Thank you for the idea
I’m so glad you liked it, Tina 😊
Wow, this is awesome. I may have to attempt this one. I think this would be a perfect size for my Mother-In-Law’s room in assisted living, not too big and bulky but so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
I think it would be perfect, Ronnie. I’m so glad I was able to inspire you 😊
What a lovely project, Toni! I love the lights. What a nice touch! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks, Tracie, so glad you liked it 🙂
Toni – What a beautiful project! The lights are just the perfect way to finish the shadowbox. Love it! Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Thanks, Laurie. It really was pretty simple to put together. My favorite type of project, lol!
