NC Demos Blog Hop – Bling on 2026!

Thanks for joining us this month for our last hop of 2025. It seems the older I get the quicker the years fly by! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. I’m enjoying the break between Christmas and the start of a new year. Who knows what’s in store for us in 2026. But I hope to still have the creative fuel. I want to keep making pretty things. I look forward to sharing them with you all.

If you started this hop with here, thanks for following me! If you came here from Tina Lesson’s blog post, thanks for hopping along with all of us. I know she had a great project to share. We truly appreciate your support each and every month.

Having said that, lets get on with our theme for this month…BLING! Who doesn’t like bling?? I’ll admit, I like it in small doses. I’ve never been one to pile it on, but it does add a certain pizzazz to things. In paper crafting, it’s easy to add bling to your projects. It can be from embellishments, using a certain technique (embossing), or using some of our beautiful Designer Series Paper. I wanted to end the year with a New Years card so I went searching through my inventory. I realized that I did have a New Years stamp in the Sign Design stamp set. So I grabbed that. And then I found a pkg of an oldie but a goodie, Season of Elegance Designer Series Paper. This paper is just stunning, in my opinion. I love the color options. You’ve got your traditional Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler, for Christmas. And the Pretty Peacock and Basic Beige paired with the gold lends itself to many other occasions.

I wanted the paper to really be the star of this card design. It certainly doesn’t need much added to it. A few die cut pieces using the Gold Foil card stock brings out the bling even more. And of course you need some gold ribbon/twine. I made 2 versions of this card, one using the Pretty Peacock/Gold paper and one using the Basic Beige/Gold.

I also used the Spotlight on Nature dies to cut circles from our Window Sheets. These pics give you a better look.

Both versions of this card are pretty simple to make. Click HERE if you’d like the PDF instructions.

Do you have a favorite between the two? I like them both but think I’m drawn more to the Pretty Peacock version. It is the Gold Hoop that pushes it to the forefront for me. I hope you enjoyed my projects. Please continue on to see what bling-y delights Amanda Rhodes has for this hop!

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a healthy and prosperous 2026! And be sure to spend more time with those who spark joy and happiness in your life, you DESERVE IT!
