Wonder & Wishes All In One Gift Card Holder and Card

Well, I have to start this post off with a facepalm šŸ˜¦Ā  This was supposed to be part of the November NC Demos Blog Hop…and I missed it.Ā  I have been so absorbed in other things that even though I had started this post several weeks ago with the intention of having it ready to go, I just missed the boat entirely.Ā  UGH…can I just chalk it up to 2020??

But, since I did have my project completed, I will share it with you.Ā  This is a great idea for giving a gift card for any occasion, I’m just focusing on it being for Christmas right now.Ā  And the layout is not my original idea.Ā  This was created by the crafty duo from Crafty Person, a team of demonstrators who provide a great blog/email service to other demonstrators.Ā  This was their November project and I just fell in love with it.Ā  I just changed up the stamps and DSP for my project.

I used very traditional colors for my card.Ā  And the Heart Warming Hugs Designer Series Paper worked perfectly.Ā  I matched Real Red and Pear Pizzazz cardstock and used Soft Suede for Mr. Deer. Adding some Gold Foil paper and Red Sheer Ribbon really sets off the whole design.

What I like most about this card is that the gift card holder is actually on the front of the card, instead of inside as we generally see.Ā  You just pull the tab at the top and the gift card is attached to the Real Red Cardstock panel!

And of course, you can add any sentiment you have on hand.Ā  I used the sentiment that comes with the Wishes and Wonders stamp set.

In The Pines – Project 3 – You’re Just So Fabulous!

Here’s a non-card project for those who love to make their own packaging for those special little gifts.Ā  Our Mini Pizza Boxes are great for holding gift cards, small trinkets, chocolates, and lots of other goodies.Ā  The boxes measure 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ x 1″.Ā  And this particular design is a great way to use up those scraps of Whisper White cardstock you may have laying around.

To make this project:

  1. Stamp the trees randomly on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock (measuring about 1″ wide by at least 5″ long), using one color.
  2. Repeat this with each of the other colors.
  3. Use a Sponge Dauber to add background color to each of the strips.
  4. Using the die shown on the bottom of the photo below, die-cut a strip from each of the colors you stamped.
  5. Randomly apply a strip of each color on the top of the Mini Pizza box and trim off any overhanging edges.
  6. Stamp your sentiment in your choice of ink colors used for the trees.Ā  Punch out the sentiment (the Label Me Fancy punch was used for this project).
  7. Apply sequins.Ā  Cut a length of ribbon that allows you to wrap it around the box and tie a bow.
  8. Attach the sentiment label to the ribbon with a piece of Linen Thread.

Plaid Tidings Suite

The Augustā€“December 2020 Mini Catalog Inspiration

I’m often asked about the best all-around stamp set or which stamp set a new stamper should start with. You know I love stamps, so I’d never say that there is one stamp set that covers all the bases, but the new August-December 2020 Mini Catalog does have a stamp set is about as close as it gets. I think you’ll love the Celebrations Tidings stamp set that is part of the Plaid Tidings Suite.

If you are new to stamping, the Celebration Tidings stamp set is a great place to start since it has greetings and images that span the holidays and occasions from Autumn through to Valentine’s Day.

If you are an avid stamper, like me, you won’t want to overlook this gem. Add on the coordinating Celebration Labels Dies and Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and they’ll bring you tidings of joyful creativity. Heat embossing and coloring techniques are ideal for this suite!

The tutorial I’m sharing features an interchangeable, multi-season, decor frame. This frame would make an amazing gift. Who do you know that would love to display this in their home? I can think of a bunch of people on my gift list!
