Without a doubt, Fall is my very favorite time of year! You can get a good mix of still warm weather with a hint of cool, crisp mornings. And there’s just nothing like seeing the beautiful colors as the trees start to turn. I’m a September baby so that might be why it just feels so good to me. And here’s an honest statement, when SU! comes out with our 2nd Mini Catalog of the year, I always turn to the fall offerings first! And this set is what caught my eye immediately. Now mind you, I don’t generally gravitate to stamps that require a lot of coloring, but this one definitely found itself in my shopping cart without hesitation! I also fell in love with the font on the sentiments. SU! has really been offering an amazing selection of new fonts for us to enjoy.
I recently posted that I had participated in a card swap with other demonstrators. You can see that post HERE. I had actually joined 2 different swaps with 2 different groups. The card below is the card that I submitted for a 2nd group of Stampin’ UP! demonstrators.
My initial thought process was to just stamp this detailed image in one color (Cinnamon Cider) and just color one focal piece, for example, the pumpkin. I was then going to accent it with Wink of Stella (my absolute FAVORITE embellishment!) for a little extra shine. But…that just looked a little too sparse to me so I broke out several of our Stampin’ Blends markers and went to town. I certainly liked the fully colored result much better but it sure did take a LOT more time to make 21 cards, lol! But I just sat and colored one evening into the wee hours of the morning, listening to my latest book on Audible, and it wasn’t bad at all. I have to be in the mood for detail coloring though, it’s not something that can be rushed so my normal procrastination mode doesn’t work well with this sort of design.
Here are a few more pictures. I tend to not always stamp a sentiment inside because then those who receive my card in the swap can add whatever they want.
I hope you enjoy my little taste of Autumn. I’m really looking forward to the cooler temps and enjoying being outside a little more without turning into a puddle! Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!
Toni
