Welcome to our April NC Demos Blog Hop! You may have just come here from Tina Lesson’s blog and I know she shared an awesome project. We have so many talented demonstrators who participate each month, I’m always excited to see what everyone has submitted!
Spring is finally here and even though we are still in the midst of a “stay at home” order in NC, I’m so happy to have some nice weather to enjoy! My husband and I have already been busy in our gardens, weeding and freshening up as much as we can. I just love getting out and digging in the dirt, it helps clear my mind and it’s an immediate boost to my mood. Here’s a few pics of some of our perennials 🙂
Our blog topic this month is very appropriately focused on SPRING, anything to do with Spring! Any of the things that make us think of Spring events, holidays, or just the lovely weather!
My projects this month are flower-themed. I anxiously wait for our flowers to bloom each year, and they come much earlier here in NC then they did back in the northeast! And a flower that you definitely see here in the south is the Magnolia. It’s a magnificent flower and I think it smells heavenly. So I was immediately drawn to this stamp set, Good Morning Magnolia when it was introduced in the current Annual catalog. I’ve also used the Magnolia Memory Dies and Magnolia Lane DSP. I just love the colors used in the DSP, they seem very calming to me, if that makes sense. And here’s some great news, the stamps and dies will carry over to the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog! But if you just need to have the DSP (and OF COURSE you do, lol!), you’ll want to grab it now before it sells out. It’s still currently available in the Last-Chance section of my online store, as is the bulk package of the DSP, which is a GREAT value!.
My card is actually one that I submitted for a swap when the catalog launched. I’ve made this same card several times since then, using the exact same materials, and also substituting other stamps and DSP. It’s such an easy layout to replicate. The box was inspired by the sample on page 37 of the current Annual catalog, I just changed it up a little.
The sentiments that I used on these projects is from the Petals and Parcels stamp set, another one that is carrying over to the new catalog 🙂 One of the many benefits of being a SU! demonstrator is that we get to see the new catalog early, so I’ve spent the last day combing through it to see what has carried over. I was actually quite pleased to see how many of my current stamp sets are staying! But, there are SO many new sets that I’ve already fallen in love with, so I’ll need to make some room for the new additions 🙂 If you’d like a copy of the new catalog, please comment on this blog post BEFORE April 29th, as I will be submitting my order for catalogs on April 30th.
I’d like to share a little tip with you on how I store my dies when they coordinate with a specific stamp set. I purchase magnetic sheets from Marietta Magnetics. I’ve ordered magnetic sheets from several other vendors and these are my favorite. They are a soft, pliable sheet (not heavy at all )and they have an adhesive backing, so they stick right inside my stamp case. And they are the perfect size, I don’t have to cut them down to fit. This makes it so easy for me to know that I don’t have to search for matching die sets when I want to create something. Maybe this is something that would be helpful to you as well!
Don’t forget that we have a lot of Last Chance products, available only while supplies last!

Happy Stamping!

Toni, I loved seeing your flowers in bloom! Such beautiful inspiration, especially with “stay at home” orders! I love the combination of your project combined with a card. The Magnolia suite is one of my favorites!
Thank you, Nedine 😊. We just love our gardens. It’s a lot of work but so worth it.
Awesome card Toni
Thanks, Tina!
I love this set so much, I don’t find time to use it enough. Your gardens are beautiful.
Thanks, Amy. Our gardens bring me such joy. We try to walk them once a day, usually in the morning with our coffee, to see what new things have sprouted 😊
Love your card. I am so going to miss that magnolia paper.
Thanks, Jo Anne, I’m going to miss it too!
Toni, I love your garden, thank you for sharing. Your card and parcel are as adorable. I love that DSP.
Sue
Thanks, Sue! You’ll have to come visit sometime, we can sit on the porch and stamp 🙂
Toni, these are just gorgeous! I see that we both like the magnolia set! I am a fairly new gardener and also look forward to who comes back each year in my garden. I feel so satisfied when a plant lives to bloom for another season. Love the cards and your designs, as always.
Thanks, Ariel! Sorry it took a bit to get back to you, your comment went to my spam folder for some reason! Thanks for your kind words and glad you enjoy gardening too! I think it’s good for the soul 🙂
Toni – The pictures of your garden are absolutely gorgeous. We have started a small vegetable garden in our front yard. I’m having fun getting my hands dirty with soil and agree with you that it is so calming to do. Your box and card are beautiful! Just like you, I’m so glad to see that many favorite stamp sets and dies are carrying forward into the new catalog. And, boy am I in trouble after having looked through the new catalog. There are far too many amazing new products! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful projects each month. I always look forward to seeing what you have made.
Hey, Laurie! I had to go look at the comments section in WordPress because I didn’t get a notice that you left one. For some reason it went to the Spam folder 🙁 But thank you for your kind comments. I’m glad to hear that you enjoy gardening too! Next to stamping it’s my 2nd favorite thing to do to de-stress! Oh, and by the way, I am also using Akismet for filtering spam comments! I didn’t even know that, lol!
Toni, your card and box are lovely. They are perfect for giving a little Spring surliest. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks, Tracie!
