NC Demos Blog Hop – Upcycle!

Hello, and welcome to our NC Demos Monthly Blog Hop for August! If you started the hop with me, thanks so much for following me 🙂 If you came here from Jo Anne Hewins’ blog where (I know her project was amazing!), thanks for hopping along with us.

We have a fun topic for this month. We were challenged to take something we would normally throw away and use it on our project! We can use items like bubble wrap, cardboard, etc… to help create a background or create our own embellishments using aluminum cans, packaging, bottle tops, etc.

As I was emptying my trash bin in my craft room, I noticed I had several pieces of wadded up tissue paper. So this is what I decided to use for my up cycle material. And I love how it turned out!

I used the tissue paper and several colors of ink to make a background. Once I completed the background, I decided to die-cut some leaves to create my card.

This technique is fun and so easy! And, the ink stays wet on the tissue paper for a bit so you can make several background pieces at one time. I created a tutorial for this, which you can access by clicking HERE. I hope you’ll give this a try, I already have some other ideas floating around in my head for upcoming cards 🙂

Please continue on with our hop to see what everyone else used for their up-cycle project. Tracie Evans Langley (The Sassy Stamper) is next and I know she has a fun project to share.
