I could NOT be any happier about this month’s theme, All Things Fall 🙂 This is my absolute favorite time of the year. It’s my birthday month, and yes, I try to celebrate ALL MONTH, lol! This year we actually took a couple of days and stayed at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. It was so nice to get away and the change of scenery was very much needed!
You may have just hopped over from Jo Anne Hewins blog, wasn’t her project amazing? She always does amazing work! I have to admit, I have a LOT of Fall themed stamp sets. I always purchase the new offerings when they come out, I just can’t help myself! We have some amazing sets in our Aug – Dec Mini catalog, but the set I used for the main part of this card is actually found in our Annual Catalog, it’s called Arrange a Wreath. This set of stamps and dies is so versatile! It covers several holiday themes, Valentines. Spring/Easter, Fall, and Christmas. For my card this month, I actually only used one stamp from the set, but several of the dies. The sentiment for my card comes from the Celebrations Tidings stamp set (Aug-Dec Mini Catalog). And while it would be perfect for a Thanksgiving card, you could easily change out the sentiment for any number of occasions!
The card itself doesn’t have a lot of parts to it, but there was a little bit of busywork that I needed to do before I could start putting it together. I combined the DSP and punches from the Gilded Autumn Suite. When SU! introduces punches in a suite, there is generally a sheet of DSP that has coordinating images to match the punches. As in the case with this paper and punches. In order to get as many images punched from the paper as possible, you do need to fussy cut sections of the DSP so that you can manipulate the punches to get every full image available. I just sat one evening while watching TV and punched out all the acorns, and oak and maple leaves. Then I hand cut the smaller leaves. Another demonstration recently posted that when she finished cutting the acorns, oak and maple leaves she ended up with 136 images!!! The punches in the bag in the lower right-hand side of the picture are extras that I was able to salvage from the leftover cardstock scraps when I die cut the 2 wreath circles. We paper crafters NEVER waste cardstock, lol! I’ll use those punches for a future project ;).
In addition to the Autumn Punch pack, I also used the Banners Pick a Punch for the sentiment. This punch is great for using up all the extra strips of cardstock that tend to accumulate in my stamp room. In fact, my plan is to take a day and just stamp multiple sentiments on those strips and save them for later. It will be a nice timesaver to have ready-to-go sentiment banners.
I featured this card at this month’s card class and everyone just loved it. Some of the new class attendees had a chance to use the new Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine for the first time and there were lots of positive comments about it. I had to remind them that we no longer have to run the dies back and forth to get a clean cut, this machine does it on the first pass! The only time I’ve had to run it through more than once is if I have applied the adhesive sheets to the back of my cardstock. Once they had their cut pieces, it was easy going for putting this card together. I had the punched leaves all ready for them in a separate bag so they just had to apply them. And I found that our mini glue dots made it a breeze to add those tiny leaves to the wreath.

Toni, all I can say is OMG! I love this one. I have not purchased the punches and stamps for this set or the wreath. I have the wreath set from the last holiday catalog. A friend gave me some of the paper last week so I actually have my hands on a little bit of the paper! I just may have to case this one. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
