New Horizons – Easel Desk Calendar

In this time of everything being electronic, I still like having a physical calendar on my desk. And it was so easy making this one.

The inspiration for this project came from SU! demonstrator, Avis Gann Anderson. I adjusted her measurements a bit and added an extra layer of coordinating cardstock to my project. This also uses a non-SU! item, 2022 Mini-Calendars purchased from Tayloyed Expressions (I am not an affiliate of this company). You may be able to find other mini-calendars, just make sure they are 3″ x 2 1/4″ so that they fit properly.

The New Horizons 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper was a perfect selection for this project. It honestly can stand on its own. But when I paired it with In The Moment stamp set, it was a match made in heaven! I’m going to give you a tip, if you purchase this package of DSP, grab 2! I think this is going to be a top seller from the 2022 Jan – Jun Mini Catalog!

Here’s a closer view of the image I used for this project. To allow for more of the DSP to show through, I cut the image out with a 2 5/8″ circle from our Layering Circles Dies and then fussy cut around the top half of the image. I attached the image with dimensionals to give it a more 3D effect. There’s also a bit of Wink of Stella on the hat, but unfortunately, that never shows up well in pictures. But in person, it definitely pops! I used various shades of our Stampin’ Blends to color this, but you could also use watercolor pencils. I might give them a try on a future project!

Here’s the LINK to the PDF I created for this project. Give it a try and please share what you come up with 🙂

Here’s a video showing you how to make this project. I used different images to make the card in the video.
