I notice that I tend to fall into certain color combinations and stay with them for a while. Right now I seem to be using a lot of blues and greens in my creations. It wasn’t my intention when I started working on cards for my March monthly class but it turned out that way, lol! This is another card that uses some of the new 2nd release items from Sale-a-Bration.
We have so many papers and colors that coordinate so beautifully! Just look at how the ink colors of Night of Navy, Old Olive and Pretty Peacock blend with some of the Perrenial Essence DSP. And the Noble Peacock Foil paper placed behind the stamped label really helps the image pop. To apply the ink to the Flowering Foils DSP, I just used a sponge dauber, one for each ink color. And using a very light touch, I applied the ink in a swirling motion to help blend it and not leave harsh lines where the colors meet. A light touch is always best, you can go back and add more color if you want to. The Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon helped pull everything together. And here’s a tip for you, this ribbon can be colored with any of our Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers so there’s a huge range of colors you could have with this ribbon. This ribbon also comes edged in gold. And of course, we always need bling so a few Rhinestones are necessary. I used the Basic Rhinestones for this card but had also made a duplicate and used the Noble Peacock Rhinestones on it.
The Tags in Bloom stamps coordinate with the Label Me Lovely punch that is featured in the current Mini Catalog.
I also used the Flowering Foils Speciality Designer Series Paper, which is also a SAB 2nd release. The papers are just gorgeous! The rose gold and silver foil designs will make any project shine. You can even color the white areas using your favorite coloring tools, which is what I did for my card.
