I’ve always loved creating special packaging for gifts so when I saw this new bundle in the Aug – Dec 2020 Mini Catalog, I knew I’d be buying it. These little treat containers can be used for every occasion imaginable! And there are stamps provided for several holidays as well as general events. I spent some time creating a few samples and wanted to share them with you.
I started with what I think is my favorite from the bunch. This could be used for a bridal shower or as a wedding favor. The colors could be coordinated with the bride’s selections for a perfect match. I used Vellum paper for the container and then used Silver Foil Paper, Peony Garden DSP, Petal Pink cardstock, and Silver Metallic Edged ribbon to pull it all together.
Next, I focused on Halloween. I haven’t purchased any specific Halloween Designer Series Paper from the new mini catalog yet, but I did have a package of the new Plaid Tidings 6 x 6 DSP. It had a perfectly appropriate plaid for Halloween! This project also uses Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White cardstock, Pumpkin Pie Ink, Black Organdy Glitter Ribbon, and Wink of Stella to add a little sparkle to that spider. A quick, fun Halloween treat!
Take a look at all the beautiful color combinations you’ll find in the Plaid Tidings DSP. Plaid is popular again and SU! is right on trend with this awesome selection of papers!
Then I moved on to Christmas. The DSP I used for this project is Tis’ The Season It has the traditional Christmas colors and there’s plenty of patterns to pick from. I used Whisper White and Real Red cardstock, Real Red Ink, Real Red, and Shaded Spruce Markers, Dark Shaded Spruce Blends, and my favorite, Whisper White Crinkle Seam Binding Ribbon. This ribbon is so versatile for 2 very important reasons, the weight of the ribbon makes it a breeze to tie AND, you can use our Blends to color the ribbon! That’s right, you can match this ribbon to any of your projects by using a coordinating color of Blends. And because our Blends are alcohol-based, they dry almost immediately. You could also use our regular Markers, but they take much, much longer to dry. To achieve the 2 different colors on the sentiment, I used the Real Red and Shaded Spruce markers to color directly on to the stamp and then stamped on to Whisper White cardstock. I love the flexibility this gives you with sentiments, they don’t have to be all one color!
NOTE! – I inadvertently used a retired product when I made this project. I used the Snow Accents Puff Paint from last year’s mini Holiday catalog, thinking that it had been carried over to this year. I apologize for the oversight! But if you still have any in your stash, it really does finish off the Santa hat 😉

And my last project using this bundle is to show you that you do have some options when creating the treat container itself. You can see this much better in the video, but to create this one, I cut off the front top of the container. I took the piece that I cut off and then adhered it to the back, covering the contrasting DSP pattern that was showing. I could have just left it off but I didn’t care for the contrast of the opposite side of the DSP. For the stamped image, I did the same thing I did on the Christmas tag, I used different colors of our markers to color directly on to the stamp. I love how it turned out. I used some coordinating shades of Blends and colored a few of our Basic Pearls to add a little bit of bling to the image.
The opening for the treats is 2 x 2 x 3/4″ and I’ve found there are all sorts of treats that would fit in there. I practiced with individually wrapped York Peppermint Patties. Mini Twix bars, and individually wrapped Dove chocolates. And I’m certain Hershey’s Nuggets would work as well, I just didn’t have any in my stash to try.
Here’s my video, which gives a few little tips about die cutting the container, as well as showing you how the projects go together.
Thanks for stopping by today,
Happy Stamping!
