Welcome to our monthly NC Demo Blog Hop!  Thank you for joining us this month.  You may have just come from  Jo Anne’s blog and I’m certain she has shared a wonderful project with you.

Stampin’ UP!’s 2018-2019 Annual Catalog is getting set to retire at the end of this month.  This is both a sad time and an exciting time for both customers and demonstrators.  Sad because inevitably some of our favorite sets and accessories will retire, but excited because there will be new items to replace them!

There are quite a few sets that are retiring that I am going to miss.  I featured one of them on my blog last month, Lovely as a Tree.  For this months project, I selected another favorite of mine, Half Full.  I remember being so excited to see this stamp set when it was introduced because I am a lover of wine!  And I am sad that it will be retiring.  But this will be one of the sets that I move out of my current stamp sets and over to my personal stash.  I try not to hang on to too many retiring sets because at some point you just run out of room to store everything.  But there are some that are special and sets that I know I’ll continue to use for personal card making.

I used Merry Merlot card stock for my base (of course!) and Shimmery White to stamp the images in Memento Black Ink.  I then colored the images using various Blends.  I love how the ink just glides over the card stock.  If you haven’t tried our  Blends yet, you really need to give them a try.  They work best on our Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Shimmery White card stocks.  And you should always use Memento ink to stamp your images because the  Blends will not cause the outline to bleed.

This card is a little different in that there is an open space between the top half and the bottom half, and they are held together by the layered wine bottle piece.  This is a fun way to change up your cards.  I’ve seen some samples where a piece of acetate is inserted between the top and bottle half, but I chose to leave mine open.

I stamped the wine glass on the inside to carry on the theme.  It’s nicely hidden behind the wine bottle panel when the card is closed.

I hope you enjoyed my card this month.  I did enjoy a little bit of wine while I was creating it, sort of a life imitating art situation, lol!
