Welcome to our monthly NC Demos Blog Hop! It’s really hard for me to grasp that we’re at the end of June and knocking on the door of July! I think we should request a general “do-over” for this year, because it’s been a real mess! But one of the constants that have helped me through the stress is stamping. I can lose myself for hours in my craft room and it does allow me to clear my head of all the noise that’s going on. I think that is true for many of us crafters. And speaking of, you may have just hopped over from Tina Lesson‘s blog and I know she had a wonderful project that she shared!
This month’s theme was interesting! It is something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue! And this is what I designed based on that criteria.
So, here’s the breakdown:
Something Old – Tailored Tag Punch
Something New – Indigo Boho Medley
Something Borrowed – I saw this card layout on one of our Dutch Demonstrators Blog – Janneke Dijkstrade Jong (Happystampin.nl) – and borrowed it!
Something Blue – I used Night of Navy and Misty Moonlight inks, as well as the various DSP patterns from the Indigo Boho Medley.
I knew as soon as I saw this Medley in the new Annual Catalog that I was going to be at the top of my wish list. Blue is my favorite color so this was right up my alley! Medley’s are a great way to start off your stamping experience. The only things you need to add are acrylic blocks to mount the stamps and adhesive.
As I mentioned above, the inspiration for the card layout came from one of our demonstrators in the Netherlands. I loved how she used the Tailored Tag but modified the width of the cardstock she was using to produce a different looking tag. She used a 1 1/2″ width of DSP to get the result. It’s always fun to find new ways to use the tools we have on hand!
When I purchased the Boho Indigo Medley I knew that at least one of my projects was going to incorporate yellow because I just love the pairing of blue and yellow. And when I placed a piece of the Bumble Bee In Color DSP next to the DSP found in the medley, I knew I had a winner! I’ve included a PDF Tutorial for my card at the bottom of this post 🙂
Just a reminder that there are a few days left to take advantage of a couple of amazing specials going on. The first is the Annual Catalog Kickoff Celebration where you can earn additional rewards with a qualifying order.
The second special is the Pick A Free Bundle Starter Kit Promotion! For a limited time, when you become a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, you can choose any stamp/tool bundle from the new 2020–2021 Annual Catalog for FREE. There could not be a better time to make your dreams of having your own Stampin’ Up! business come true, OR, just join for the discount! There’s no pressure to make this a business, many demonstrators sign up simply to keep their stash full of amazing products at a discounted cost. 🙂

Toni loved the card and the idea may have to case it and I love blue too but not as much as green
Thanks, Tina, and please feel free to case!! Green is my 2nd favorite color 🙂
I am embarrassed to say that this is the first time I’m seeing this DSP! Gasp! This is beautiful!
I really want to know how you decide the spacing between the punched shapes. I haven’t been able to figure that out yet.
Martinette, it’s so much better in person! And I just keep moving the pieces around until they feel right to me, no real method other than that.
This is a lovely layout, great color choices! TFS
Thank you, Tracy, it was fun making it 😊
Pretty card! This is a fantastic alternative use for the Tailored Tag punch. The Bumblebee looks great with the DSP you used.
Thank you, Sue. It really is neat that we can get more use out of our punches just my changing the card stock width.
Love the use of the Tailored Tag Punch. I will be doing this! I also love the paper in this product medley. I bought so much that I’ve held off getting it. Leg me say it again. I love that paper!
Thanks, Jo Anne, I knew I wanted to try that layout as soon as I saw Janneke’s Card. And the DSP is just so pretty, I’m going to be using it a lot!
Love your car. Blue and yellow is one of my favorite color combinations.
Darn I hit send before I proofread.
Thanks, Sue!
Oh My! I love the color combination here. So bright and cheery! I love the boho indigo box but have not yet purchased it.
Thanks, Amy, it is one of my favorite color combos 🙂
Toni – Your card is beautiful! I love the different patterns in the paper, the colors, and the layout. It is so bright and cheerful. If you find out how we can have a “do over” for this year, please pass it along. If it weren’t for inks, stamps, and paper, I’m not sure how I would have maintained the level of sanity that I am pretending to have right now. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful card!
Thanks, Laurie 😊. It was hard to decide which papers to use, they are all so beautiful!
Fantastic card, Toni! I love the colors and the unique way to use the punch. I am definitely casing this one!
Thanks, Tracy! I’m glad you liked it 😊
