Hello and thank you for checking out our Blog Hop this month! You may have started here for the blog hop or came here from Tracie Evans Langley’s blog. She’s always a hard act to follow, she’s so creative 🙂
The theme this month is called Two of a Kind. We were to create/find a template and make 2 different cards from it. This is my first card for the hop. I came across a template that I absolutely love (I found this template on a couple of different demonstrators’ websites so I’m not sure where it originated). But it’s a GREAT use of our 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper, especially the ones with photographic images, such as the All About Autumn papers. These papers are currently unavailable but due to be back in stock the week of Oct 9th. Be sure to grab a package (or 2) when they are available again because you will be able to make numerous cards using this template!
The DSP is cut 3″ by 6″. If the image on the paper is in a portrait orientation, make sure you cut at the 3″ mark at the top of the 6 x 6 paper. If the image is landscaped, cut at the 3″ mark on the left-hand side of the 6 x 6 paper. You just want the flow of the pattern to stay intact. You’ll cut 3 – 1″ strips (starting at the top of the 3″ x 6″ piece for portrait orientation and starting from the left-hand side for landscape orientation). Set aside the 3″ x 3″ piece that is left over for die cutting pieces to finish the card or to use on another project. This card comes together so quickly, you’ll find yourself making multiples with ease!
This is the 2nd card I made using this layout. The paper I used is from a 12 x 12 package, so you can definitely use either size paper. I did have to be aware of how I cut my 3 x 3 piece so that the images showed what I wanted for this card. Aren’t these little polar bears just too cute!? This card shows you how a landscape option would look.
I do have a tutorial to share for this card. It uses the Fall-themed card at the top, but the measurements will be the same for either card. The supplies listed below are also for the fall card. The colors I used in the card above were Boho Blue for the card base and Misty Moonlight for the layer. The DSP is Beary Christmas (162015), due back in inventory the week of Oct. 2nd. The ribbon is Silver & White Sheer (162149), due back in inventory at the same time. Just a note, all the supplies I used for the cards were available at the time I created this post. But the Sep – Jan Mini Catalog has been so wildly popular that things have been selling like hotcakes!

I hope you enjoyed this card layout and will give it a try! Now, please continue through the rest of the hop to see what other great projects are being shared. Tina Lesson is up next and her projects always inspire me!
