Happy Fall, everyone! We are now in my very favorite season! I love the cooler mornings and the beautiful colors of the leaves changing. And Pumpkins, cornstalks, mums…anything and everything associated with Fall! And my birthday is in September so that probably adds to my love of it 🙂
This month we were to create anything with a Fall theme. You may have just come from Tina’s post and I know she had a fabulous project to share. We always have at least one new Fall themed stamp set that comes out in the Holiday catalog and I always purchase it. I do every year and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon, lol! This month, I used 2 different sets to make to very two different cards. One uses traditional Fall colors and the other uses one of the many new trending colors that you see out in the retail stores now.
My first card uses the Delightful Day Bundle and the Gather Together Bundle. I love that we can combine sets from different catalogs. This is also one of the cards I just used for our Quarterly NC Demo gathering on Saturday 🙂
And I also decided to use something a little different for layering on this card. In addition to the piece of Soft Suede that I used the Subtles Dynamic Embossing Folder on, I also cut apart one of our Copper Dotted Treat Bags to use as well.
I stamped the pumpkins in Cajun Craze on Whisper White card stock and then brushes Wink of Stella over it, which pulls a little bit of the ink color on to the image. That was then die cut and I also used the Come to Gather DSP to die cut the leaf.
The finished card!
For my second card, I went with non-traditional colors. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the finished product but once it was all assembled, I liked it! This card uses the Harvest Hellow Bundle, which is in the Holiday Catalog.
While I love all the stamp sets that come with a coordinating die set, I really enjoy using the bundles that come with a punch. It’s that instant gratification thing, I guess. But this card was quick and easy to put together. I just stamped the pumpkins on different patterns of the Come to Gather DSP and a scrap of Mint Macaron card stock using Early Espresso ink, and then punched them out. I used a scrap of Early Espresso card stock to get the stems, then I trimmed them a little bit. After that, I brushed on some Wink of Stella. I’ve said this before but that is one of my favorite embellishments, it just adds a little something to the finished card. It’s not always easy to see in a photograph but it really packs a punch in person.
My favorite sentiment in this stamps set is the Hey There, Pumpkin! because its one of the nicknames I call my grandson, and now that he’s 13, he says he’s too old to be called that. But I told him it’s my Grandmother privilege to call him whatever I want, lol!
And here’s the finished project!
And I’ve added a new feature to my blog pictures! If you click on any of the images, you will be directed to a page on my online store that lists all the products I used to make the card. You can choose to add them all to your shopping cart, or just select the ones that you need since a lot of us have a pretty nice inventory of SU! products already on hand, lol!
I hope you enjoyed my cards and perhaps I’ve pushed you a little outside your comfort zone with the non-traditional example. Now, please continue hopping along to Jo Anne’s blog. She always amazes me with her creative talent!
Happy Stamping!

Toni, both of your cards are fantastic, but I LOVE the second one! I have already pinned it and will be casing it this week! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks, Tracie, that was my favorite too 😊
Great cards! I hate to admit it, but as a 1st grade teacher, I would have said that blue is not a fall color. I regret that now. I’m loving Pretty Peacock! So good to see you yesterday!
I’m right there with you, Jo Anne! But I am in love with Pretty Peacock. It was great seeing you too 😊
