Now that I’ve told you about SAB, let’s get on to my card for this month . It’s always funny to me how whenever we get a new catalog, there are stamp sets that just speak to me, and others…well, not so much. This was the case with the stamp set I used for my project. Epic Celebrations is definitely a cute set, but it was pretty low my list of “must-haves”. But then I got this idea in my head, and this is what it ended up looking like on paper. Canvas shoes have definitely changed from when I was growing up. You pretty much had 2 colors to pick from, white or black (yes, I’m showing my age!). But now, I’ve seen them in every color imaginable and with patterns too. Let your imagination run wild with this set, you won’t be disappointed!

I knew I wanted to jazz up the shoes for this card, so I stamped them on a piece of DSP from the Painted with Love paper. Then I filled in the tip of the shoes with Tombow glue and then dipped them in our Gold Glitter. It’s just enough bling to really make them stand out on this card. And I’m loving the Melon Mambo and Basic Black color pairing. Plus, it really came together pretty quickly. I hope you enjoy this card and it inspires you to jazz up those shoes when you use this set! All the details are below.

Materials:

Whisper White – 10” x 4.25”, score @ 4.5 on 10”’side

Basic Black – 4.25” x 4”

Melon Mambo – 4” x 3.75”

Scrap Basic Black – cut one large heart (Lots to Love Framelits)

DSP – stamp sneaker image and fussy cut.

Instructions:

Stamp sentiment in the lower right corner of Melon Mambo panel, then randomly stamp dots.

Fill in a light layer of liquid glue on the top tip of the sneaker cutout. Dip in gold glitter, then tap off extra glitter. Set aside to dry.

Layer Melon Mambo on Basic Black, then layer on the short side of the Whisper White card front.

Place 3 random strips of washi tape on the right side of the 5.5” piece of Whisper White.

Adhere black heart to the center of Melon Mambo. Place a mini dimensional in the center of the heart.

Wrap both Gold and Black metallic thread around fingers 3-4 times, pinch center and place firmly on top of dimensional. Place sneaker image over metallic thread using additional dimensionals.
