We are definitely all going through a very strange and possibly stressful time with the current health crisis. And even though a lot of us are inconvenienced and impacted in different ways, those who are on the front lines are definitely feeling the brunt of things, in my humble opinion. The medical professionals are doing all they can possibly do given the ever-changing parameters. And those in the service industry – grocery clerks, delivery persons, restaurant owners, and anyone whose business is deemed essential are facing day to day challenges to try to help us with everyday needs. These folks are true heroes in my eyes. And they have my heartfelt gratitude.
So, I wanted to create a card that honors them. I created the card using our new Ornate Gardens Bundle Suite. This is a bit of a sneak peek, because this suite is going to be featured in our 2020-2021 Annual Catalog! And YOU can actually purchase it now. No need to wait until the catalog goes live in June, isn’t that great 🙂
I decided to take a different route than to focus primarily on the floral aspects of the suite, although they are quite beautiful! I decided to create my own background using the small border stamp featured in the Ornate Style stamp set.
I stamped this image on a diagonal and just filled the card layer with it using Early Espresso ink. Then I went back and colored some of the swirls using Light Mint Macaron Blends. And to finish off the background, I used Wink of Stella over the Mint Macaron.
Next, I used the dies from the Ornate Style Bundle. I used Early Espresso card stock and then I cut so I’d just have a top and bottom piece. I stamped the greeting, So Grateful on Mint Macaron cardstock using Early Espresso Ink and then adhered to the top and bottom pieces of the cut frame pieces to the greeting.
Next, I stamped the small daisy on Whisper White using Early Espresso Ink, and added some color with Light Mint Macaron Blend, and then a little more Wink of Stella over the petals. I fussy cut the image and added one of the Gilded Gems for the center of the daisy.
To finish the card, I wrapped a piece of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the stamped panel and tied a small bow on the right-hand side. The greeting and daisy were added with dimensionals.
I hope you enjoyed my card and remember to thank those who are so instrumental in helping us through these trying times!
