Retiring Bird Ballad Laser Cut Cards

Yesterday I held a virtual card class with some of my regular monthly card class attendees.  This is one of the cards we made.  It uses the retiring  Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin which is still available and on sale for just $14.40!  You can decorate these cards in so many ways.  For this card, I used the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, which is also retiring and that is on sale as well!

If you are interested in learning more about my virtual card classes, just like my Toni Mari’s Creations FB page and then ask to be added to the private Virtual Classes Group

The papers in this assortment are just beautiful as you can see from the picture below.

The card was super quick to make.  You can find the instructions below.  But hurry if you want to grab the materials  I used to make the card as several items are in the Last Chance Product promotion!  You can click on any of the images below to go directly to my online store 🙂

Happy Stamping!!

SU! Day Of Caring – Open to ALL!

Stampin’ UP! regularly schedules a Day of Service among its employees, and this time the event is open to anyone who wants to participate!  For this year’s Day of Service, they will use the Share Sunshine PDF Download to make and send cards to loved ones, frontline workers, etc.  You can find my previous post about the Share Sunshine PDF download here.

The public event will occur on Thursday, May 21st at 2:00pm MT (4:00pm ET) and it will be held on SU! CEO, Sara Douglass’s personal FB page, which you can find here.  There’s a little bit of prep required if you want to participate in the live event.  But, if you are unable to participate in the live craft party, the replay will be available to view any time on Sara’s Facebook page.  And of course, you are welcome to just watch the event if that’s more suitable for you.

To follow along during the live craft party, you will need card bases, Designer Series Paper (or any double-sided 12×12 craft paper you have on hand), a printed copy of the Share Sunshine PDF Download (which can be purchased here) (or use your own sentiments), embellishments, adhesive, and scissors or a Paper Trimmer. To make it easy for everyone to participate, we’ve also created an instruction sheet for Sara’s four-step cards, which includes a cut map for your Designer Series Paper (any Designer Series Paper will work). Note: A full package of 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper will be enough to make four kits (each kit makes 20 cards), or you can just work with 3 sheets of 12×12 paper to make 20 cards.  You can find the instruction sheet here. You are encouraged you to come prepared with pre-cut Designer Series Paper!

Sara shared on her FB page how to cut the 12×12 paper so that you’d have exactly what you need to make the cards.  Her video for that is here.

Here are a few samples of the cards Sara has created using the suggested layout from her PDF above.

Monday Morning Puzzle Fun!

If you remember, a few weeks again I posted info about Stampin’ UP!’s promotion to help recognize all the amazing individuals who have gone above and beyond the challenge in the battle against the pandemic.  That promotion is still going on so there’s still time to purchase and download the amazing bundle of sentiments!  All the details on how to do that are below.

But, I thought I’d add a little fun into the mix today.  You’ll remember that I made this card to give to a very good friend using sentiments from the COVID-19 promotion.  If you click on it, this image will be turned into a jigsaw puzzle that you can assemble right at your desktop!  How cool is that??  The puzzle pieces will all be shown in the direction they need to be, you just move them around like you would a regular puzzle.  Another demonstrator shared this feature on her blog and I loved it so much I wanted to share it with you 🙂  You can see her blog here, Song of my Heart Stampers).

Have fun playing and have a wonderful week!

2020 Mini Catalog, 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, Cards, Sale, Stampin' UP!, Toni Mari's Creations

Corona Craziness!

In the last couple of months we have all been feeling the stress of having to shelter in place, work from home, and home school our children among many other things.  The entire world is experiencing something that I don’t think any of us could have imagined.  It can be very overwhelming!   And while I would never make light of such a serious situation, I do think that it’s ok to try to find something that helps you smile, or even laugh a little bit.  And that brings to me this card I made for a friend 🙂

I recently posted about an initiative SU! has taken to raise money for a couple of organizations that are on the forefront of the pandemic.  You can read that post here.  I was finally able to sit down and play with the sentiments and came up with this card.  It came together pretty quickly, I used the sentiment from Thanks for the Laughs and one of the images from Young at Heart, both of which will NOT carry over to the new annual catalog.  In fact, there are a few things I used on this card that will be retiring soon, the Starburst Punch, Mint Macaron Ribbon and the Garden Lane Designer Series paper.  So if there’s anything that catches your eye, hurry over to the Last Chance page and grab them (they are only available while supplies last!)

Inside card

I find that crafting in general and making cards specifically helps to focus on something positive.  Let’s face it, we all need a distraction once in a while when things get just a little too heavy.  I hope that my card brought a smile to your face and I also hope you are all able to find a little respite from all that’s going on.

Thanks for stopping by,

Toni

Card Stock, Cards, NC Demos Blog Hop, Retiring, Sale, Stampin' UP!, Toni Mari's Creations

It’s a Spring Thing!

Welcome to our April NC Demos Blog Hop!  You may have just come here from Tina Lesson’s blog and I know she shared an awesome project.  We have so many talented demonstrators who participate each month, I’m always excited to see what everyone has submitted!

Spring is finally here and even though we are still in the midst of a “stay at home” order in NC, I’m so happy to have some nice weather to enjoy!  My husband and I have already been busy in our gardens, weeding and freshening up as much as we can.  I just love getting out and digging in the dirt, it helps clear my mind and it’s an immediate boost to my mood.  Here’s a few pics of some of our perennials  🙂

Our blog topic this month is very appropriately focused on SPRING, anything to do with Spring!  Any of the things that make us think of Spring events, holidays, or just the lovely weather!

My projects this month are flower-themed.  I anxiously wait for our flowers to bloom each year, and they come much earlier here in NC then they did back in the northeast!  And a flower that you definitely see here in the south is the Magnolia.  It’s a magnificent flower and I think it smells heavenly.  So I was immediately drawn to this stamp set, Good Morning Magnolia when it was introduced in the current Annual catalog.  I’ve also used the Magnolia Memory Dies and Magnolia Lane DSP.  I just love the colors used in the DSP, they seem very calming to me, if that makes sense.  And here’s some great news, the stamps and dies will carry over to the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog!  But if you just need to have the DSP (and OF COURSE you do, lol!), you’ll want to grab it now before it sells out.  It’s still currently available in the Last-Chance section of my online store, as is the bulk package of the DSP, which is a GREAT value!.

My card is actually one that I submitted for a swap when the catalog launched.  I’ve made this same card several times since then, using the exact same materials, and also substituting other stamps and DSP.  It’s such an easy layout to replicate.  The box was inspired by the sample on page 37 of the current Annual catalog, I just changed it up a little.

The sentiments that I used on these projects is from the Petals and Parcels stamp set, another one that is carrying over to the new catalog 🙂   One of the many benefits of being a SU! demonstrator is that we get to see the new catalog early, so I’ve spent the last day combing through it to see what has carried over.  I was actually quite pleased to see how many of my current stamp sets are staying!  But, there are SO many new sets that I’ve already fallen in love with, so I’ll need to make some room for the new additions 🙂  If you’d like a copy of the new catalog, please comment on this blog post BEFORE April 29th, as I will be submitting my order for catalogs on April 30th.

I’d like to share a little tip with you on how I store my dies when they coordinate with a specific stamp set.  I purchase magnetic sheets from Marietta Magnetics.  I’ve ordered magnetic sheets from several other vendors and these are my favorite.  They are a soft, pliable sheet (not heavy at all )and they have an adhesive backing, so they stick right inside my stamp case.  And they are the perfect size, I don’t have to cut them down to fit.  This makes it so easy for me to know that I don’t have to search for matching die sets when I want to create something. Maybe this is something that would be helpful to you as well!

Don’t forget that we have a lot of Last Chance products, available only while supplies last!

You can click below to see everything that is currently available!

Thanks for taking a look at my projects this month.  Please continue on through the rest of the hop,  Sue Stapp is next up and I know you will be wowed!  Just click on the graphic below to keep “hopping”!
