In Color Inspiration

Have you had a chance to dive in and play with the five new 2020-2022 In Colors?

I’m loving these rich colors for summer stamping. I think they will be gorgeous for autumn projects, too. Both the World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Flowers For Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper feature the new In Colors so there’s a ton of inspiration for combining these colors with masculine and floral themes. I hope you have as much fun getting to know these new colors as I am!

This month’s Color Inspiration, of course, features three of the new In Colors. I think you’ll love the crisp chic style and rustic natural look of the two samples.

If you haven’t received the new Annual Catalog yet, be sure to let me know!

Happy Stamping!!

COLOR INSPIRATION

A new Annual Catalog means the introduction of new In Colors. Each year the new colors are at the top of many stampers must-have list. This year, Stampin’ Up! has hit a home run with these muted, rich colors. They are luscious and perfect for creating both natural and vintage themes. For this month’s Color Inspiration I’m focusing on three of the new In Colors; Misty Moonlight, Cinnamon Cider, and Bumblebee. The first card features the Flowers for Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (#152486) and Ornate Layers dies (#152726). The Forever Fern stamp set (#152559) is combined with the awesome new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch (#152883) to create the little greeting label. The Scripty 3D Embossing Folder (#149634), Medium Daisy Punch (#149517), Gilded Gems (#152478), and Bumblebee 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon (#153658) add lots of rich texture to this chic card.

The second card features a rustic look with floral and textural designs from the Tasteful Touches stamp set (#152562). The 2020-2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (#153070) and water coloring add rich detail to this card. The Forever Flourishing Dies (#152714) are used with Brass Foil (#153057) to add a touch of elegant shine.  Other colors used in these projects: Early Espresso, Whisper White, and Brass. What will you create with these colors? I can’t wait to see!

Birds and Branches

Happy Sunday, Everyone!  Today I wanted to show you a card I recently created for an NC Demonstrator Swap.  The swap requirements were to use new products from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.  And if you aren’t familiar with what a swap is, it’s when a group of people sign up to create a card based on specific criteria.  We are told the total number of cards to make and they are mailed to the person who is hosting the swap.  Once they’ve collected all the cards from the participants, they sort all the cards and mail one design each back to everyone.  So we end up with a variety of card samples to share at our classes or use for blog posts.  It’s a really fun way to add cards to our collections without us each making them ourselves.

My card featured the new Birds and Branches set and some other products from the new catalog (you can see all the products below).  I used the circle die first on a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ paper.  Then I used my Blends to color the leaves and berries.  Once that was done, I took that layer of card stock and ran it through my embossing machine using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.  I just love the look that the texture gives to the branches and berries!

I then laid that layer over the front of my Thick Whisper White card stock (4 1/4″ x 11″, scored @ 5 1/2″), and using a pencil, I placed a small dot at the bottom of the circle.  This was to give me guidance as to where to stamp the nest.  I stamped the nest using Crumb Cake ink on the front of the folder Thick Whisper White base.  Next, I took a length of the White Crinkle Ribbon and wrapped it around the die-cut and embossed layer and tied a bow, then attached that layer to the card front using dimensionals.  The bird was stamped with Rococo Rose ink on Blushing Bride card stock and then die cut and also attached with dimensionals.  The sentiment was stamped using the Many Mates stamp set and then die cut using the Tasteful Labels die.  That was attached to the front with dimensionals as well.  The final step was to add some Wink of Stella to the berries and that was my finished card!

I hope you enjoyed my card 🙂

Happy Stamping!

NEW 2020-2022 In Color Card and a Brand New Product!

I recently shared this card kit with my customers who RSVP’d for my 2020-2021 Catalog Virtual Open House.  If they responded by a certain date they received the materials to make this card.  The card features our NEW 2020-2022 In Colors as well as a brand new product in the catalog, Adhesive Sheets.  I can not tell you how excited I am to have this product available in the catalog!  It is truly a game-changer for apply intricate dies cut images, or really any die cut image.

If you are not familiar with Adhesive Sheets, here’s how they work.  You measure your piece of cardstock (enough for the die you are cutting).  Then measure a piece of Adhesive Sheet (I usually measure slightly smaller than the cardstock piece), peel off the carrier sheet, and apply the sticky side down on your card stock.  Turn your cardstock over, place the die on top, and using the appropriate “sandwich” for your die-cutting machine, run it through the machine.

I hope you enjoyed my card and the introduction to our new Adhesive Sheets!  You honestly won’t know how you’ve lived without them all this time, lol!

If you would like to purchase a card kit for this card, just comment on this blog post and I’ll send one out to you.  The cost is $5 which includes postage.

Happy Stamping!

The 2020-2021 Annual Catalog is LIVE!

Woo Hoo!!  The new catalog is officially live which means that I can share the catalog download with you!  It’s always nice to have an online reference but for me, there’s nothing like having a physical catalog in my hands.  I love grabbing a beverage and sitting down to browse through all the beautiful samples, and make my wish list.  And boy, is that list long already, lol!  If you’d like your own catalog (and don’t already have a SU! demonstrator!), then please contact me by leaving a comment on this post.

Along with the launch of the new catalog comes 2 great incentives!

The 1st incentive is that anyone who holds a party or shops during the month of June will receive extra Stampin’ Rewards with a qualifying purchase of $250 or more!  It’s definitely a great time to gather a few friends and host a party (and we can do virtual parties!).  Or if you aren’t up for hosting, then just gather a few orders from friends to reach the qualifying purchase requirement and then split the rewards.  Or if you are like me, I can pretty quickly reach that requirement with my own order, lol!  Keep in mind that this is above and beyond the normal rewards that you see below.

===============================================================

The 2nd amazing incentive for June is for anyone who is interested in joining SU! and my team!  We already have a pretty great joining offer but you can get even MORE if you sign up between June 3rd and June 30th.

Stampin’ Up!’s Starter Kit is completely customizable. Build it your way! For just $99 you get:

* Your choice of up to $125 worth of any current Stampin’ Up! products
* A business supply pack valued at $50

That’s a total value of $175 (USD)

And the extra incentive for June is that you get to pick ANY one bundle (punch or die) to add to your starter kit.  That is up to a $60 value!!  Here’s a list of all the available bundles.

2020-2021 Bundles for New Recruits by Page Number

Here are just some of the benefits of becoming a Demonstrator:

  • Get 20%–25% off all Stampin’ Up! products.
  • Earn additional income based on your sales and recruiting, (if you choose to recruit)–just how much extra income is up to you.
  • Set your own schedule and put in as much (or as little) time as you’d like.
  • There’s no obligation!  You aren’t required to sell to others.  And if you decide that being a demonstrator just isn’t for you, you can stop at any time.
  • Get support through online training resources, weekly newsletter, events, and a demonstrator-only online community with thousands of project ideas.
  • Access to regular promotions such as pre-orders and special deals!
  • Opportunity to earn incentive trips.
  • Chance to learn creative tips and techniques, share ideas, and come into contact with new friends who love paper crafting as much as you do!

May NC Demos Blog Hop – Saying Goodbye!

Welcome to our monthly NC Demo Blog Hop!  Thanks for checking out all the amazing projects this month.  You may have just come here from Amy Kinler’s blog, wasn’t her project amazing?

Our theme this month was to post a project using a set that will be retiring from the 2019 -2020 Annual Catalog.  I do have several favorites that will be retiring so choosing one set was a challenge.  So I fudged the rules a little bit because I chose 2 stamp sets, Happy Tails, and Nine Lives.  I really love my fur babies and I’m a little bit upset that these sets are retiring, BUT…we have a wonderful new set coming in the new catalog that will fill the void 🙂  BTW, the punches that coordinate with both of these sets are NOT retiring 🙂

(Happy Tails and Nine Lives Instructions)

I’m also trying to use up some of the beautiful DSP that will be retiring as well and I decided to use DSP from See A Silhouette because I wanted bright bold colors.  This DSP is currently reduced to $8.05 so don’t wait to grab a package or two!!  Crushed Curry and Pacific Point were to 2 colors I chose to help accent the DSP.  I used one of the dies from Stitched Labels (which are retiring as well) for the sentiment on the Happy Tails card and then just stamped the sentiment right on to the DSP for the Nine Lives card.  I tend to forget about stamping on our DSP!  And of course, that gorgeous Crushed Curry Crinkled Seam binding pulls it all together.  I’m really going to miss this ribbon as well, it’s just soooo vibrant!

Here a two more cards I made with the 2 sets.

Here’s a better look at the See A Silhoutte DSP,  just look at those gorgeous colors!

I hope you have enjoyed my Bon Voyage to 2 favorite stamp sets!  Be sure to check out the Last Chance Products page to grab these 2 stamp sets before they are gone for good!

Now please continue on with our hop, click on the Next Blog pic and check out what Tina Lesson has to share with you today!  We have 14 bloggers this month so make sure you visit them ALL!

Magnolia Lane Memories and More Card

Today I’m sharing a 2nd card that we created in my last virtual card class.  This one features the Magnolia Lane Memories and More cards along with the Magnolia Lane DSP, both of which are on the Last Chance Product promotion and only available while supplies last! (NOTE – the regular package of DSP has sold out but you can still purchase the Magnolia Lane Bulk Designer Series Paper which gives you even more amazing papers to work with!)

I just love the different look of the Memories and More card pack, and having the decorated envelope insert really ties it all together.

Here’s a close up of the flower, which was so easy to create using the Magnolia Memory dies.

And here’s the inside of the card.  I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies, which I absolutely LOVE!

Here are the instructions for making this card.  I hope you’ll give it a try!  It’s a very versatile design and you can add any sentiment you wish to the inside 🙂

SU! Day Of Caring – Open to ALL!

Stampin’ UP! regularly schedules a Day of Service among its employees, and this time the event is open to anyone who wants to participate!  For this year’s Day of Service, they will use the Share Sunshine PDF Download to make and send cards to loved ones, frontline workers, etc.  You can find my previous post about the Share Sunshine PDF download here.

The public event will occur on Thursday, May 21st at 2:00pm MT (4:00pm ET) and it will be held on SU! CEO, Sara Douglass’s personal FB page, which you can find here.  There’s a little bit of prep required if you want to participate in the live event.  But, if you are unable to participate in the live craft party, the replay will be available to view any time on Sara’s Facebook page.  And of course, you are welcome to just watch the event if that’s more suitable for you.

To follow along during the live craft party, you will need card bases, Designer Series Paper (or any double-sided 12×12 craft paper you have on hand), a printed copy of the Share Sunshine PDF Download (which can be purchased here) (or use your own sentiments), embellishments, adhesive, and scissors or a Paper Trimmer. To make it easy for everyone to participate, we’ve also created an instruction sheet for Sara’s four-step cards, which includes a cut map for your Designer Series Paper (any Designer Series Paper will work). Note: A full package of 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper will be enough to make four kits (each kit makes 20 cards), or you can just work with 3 sheets of 12×12 paper to make 20 cards.  You can find the instruction sheet here. You are encouraged you to come prepared with pre-cut Designer Series Paper!

Sara shared on her FB page how to cut the 12×12 paper so that you’d have exactly what you need to make the cards.  Her video for that is here.

Here are a few samples of the cards Sara has created using the suggested layout from her PDF above.
