Hello and welcome to our May NC Demos Blog Hop! I’m excited for this month (a little more than my normal monthly excitement, lol!) because this month allows us to showcase NEW STUFF! Our 2023-2024 Catalog went live on May 2nd and it’s chock full of amazing new stamps, dies, punches, Designer Series Paper, etc., etc.! If you don’t have a hard copy of the new catalog and would like one, just comment on this post and I’ll be sure to get one out to you.
You may have started the hop with me, or come here from Jo Anne Hewins’s blog, where she shared her favorite new stamps from the annual catalog. We have such a talented group of stampers who participate in the blog hop, so I hope you will continue and check out everyone’s creations this month.
For my project, I chose the new set Crafting with You stamps and the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder. And I am also sharing a technique that was reintroduced to us at the recent New Bern NC Demo Quarterly event. The technique is called Faux Tile and it’s a quick technique that gives a great look.
I brought together two of my favorite returning colors, Starry Sky and Lemon Lime Twist. I just love how they go together. I chose to use the floral images from the stamp set. I think they work well with the faux tile technique. As I mentioned, this was a technique we did at last month’s Quarterly gathering. I tweaked the measurements a little bit on my card and changed the orientation. I just love this sentiment too, it’s so appropriate for many occasions. And if you are a crafter, this set has so many possibilities! While I didn’t use any of the dies from the bundle, there’s certainly a lot you can do with them!
Here’s the inside of the card. I pulled in a couple of the small flowers using Lemon Lime Twist ink and the “You inspire me” sentiment stamped with Starry Sky ink.
I hope you enjoyed my card and will give this technique a try. It’s really pretty simple to do! Click HERE to download the instructions.
Now I hope you’ll continue on through our blog to see what the rest of our talented demonstrators have created! Laurie Meiers is up next and she always has a great project to share.

Toni, I love the colors you used and the grid technique is great. Thanks for sharing.
Another great stamp set that I HAVE to get now!! Great card! I love that technique… need to give it a try! Thanks for sharing!
Toni – Your card is beautiful! The faux tile technique really shows off the amazing stamps and colors. I love all the textures in the design and will definitely be CASEing 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing!
Great card Toni. I haven’t tried the faux tile technique in a while. I definitely need to try again. The Crafting for You stamp set is great for it. Love the colors. I have the Exposed Brick EF, but haven’t had time to use it. Things never seem to slow down, do they?
Fantastic card, Toni! I love the color combination and the way you used it with the Faux Tile technique. I am already thinking about which stamp set I can use to case this one. Thank you for sharing!
Love this technique – and it goes well with this bundle. Thank you for sharing!
