Welcome to our monthly NC Demos Blog Hop! It’s really hard for me to grasp that we’re at the end of June and knocking on the door of July! I think we should request a general “do-over” for this year, because it’s been a real mess! But one of the constants that have helped me through the stress is stamping. I can lose myself for hours in my craft room and it does allow me to clear my head of all the noise that’s going on. I think that is true for many of us crafters. And speaking of, you may have just hopped over from Tina Lesson‘s blog and I know she had a wonderful project that she shared!
This month’s theme was interesting! It is something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue! And this is what I designed based on that criteria.
Something Borrowed – I saw this card layout on one of our Dutch Demonstrators Blog – Janneke Dijkstrade Jong (Happystampin.nl) – and borrowed it!
Something Blue – I used Night of Navy and Misty Moonlight inks, as well as the various DSP patterns from the Indigo Boho Medley.
I knew as soon as I saw this Medley in the new Annual Catalog that I was going to be at the top of my wish list. Blue is my favorite color so this was right up my alley! Medley’s are a great way to start off your stamping experience. The only things you need to add are acrylic blocks to mount the stamps and adhesive.
As I mentioned above, the inspiration for the card layout came from one of our demonstrators in the Netherlands. I loved how she used the Tailored Tag but modified the width of the cardstock she was using to produce a different looking tag. She used a 1 1/2″ width of DSP to get the result. It’s always fun to find new ways to use the tools we have on hand!
When I purchased the Boho Indigo Medley I knew that at least one of my projects was going to incorporate yellow because I just love the pairing of blue and yellow. And when I placed a piece of the Bumble Bee In Color DSP next to the DSP found in the medley, I knew I had a winner! I’ve included a PDF Tutorial for my card at the bottom of this post 🙂

Have you had a chance to dive in and play with the five new 2020-2022 In Colors?
I’m loving these rich colors for summer stamping. I think they will be gorgeous for autumn projects, too. Both the World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Flowers For Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper feature the new In Colors so there’s a ton of inspiration for combining these colors with masculine and floral themes. I hope you have as much fun getting to know these new colors as I am!
This month’s Color Inspiration, of course, features three of the new In Colors. I think you’ll love the crisp chic style and rustic natural look of the two samples.
If you haven’t received the new Annual Catalog yet, be sure to let me know!

2018 – 2020 IN COLORS
All 2018-2020 In Color inks, paper, and embellishments are retiring. These items usually sell out quickly so don’t forget to add ink refills and extra cardstock for your craft stash. Check out the In Color samples below for color inspiration. You don’t want to miss having these bright, happy colors in your collection!
Retiring stamps are available through June 2nd. All other retiring items, such as paper, embellishments, and dies are only available while supplies last, so you don’t want to wait and miss out. Here are a few of the top-selling Designer Series Paper that are retiring.
Bundles, with their 10% savings, all retire! Even if the bundle items carry over to the next catalog the discount does not so save on bundles while you can.
Oh, there is one more thing I want to mention! Stampin’ Blends ARE NOT RETIRING!! They will only be available to purchase as a pair in the new catalog, so if you need just a Light or Dark version of your favorite color, now would be the time to grab them!
Believe it or not, we only have a little over 3 months left that we can purchase the bold, bright selections of the 2018-2020 In-Color lineup! That’s right, these beauties will retire at the end of May. I wanted to give you an early heads up about this. Once everyone starts to realize that these colors are going away, they start buying up ink refills, cardstock, and embellishments long before the Annual Catalog retires. So, now is the time to grab them!
I joined a Blog Hop last June where we had to use these colors so I thought I’d share with you the card I made for it.
Click on the ink pads below to see all the rest of the coordinating products that go with each color!
I have loved using these colors and will definitely miss them, but it’s always exciting to see what the next In Color selections will be!
